  • I have to admit that I'm not so sure about your take on FOREST01. I always debated that the blocks in the original are a bit more tightly packed than yours, or at least the shadows were stronger (i.e the areas between the blocks are darker on the original).

    I admit though, that I couldn't decide if the original was rock or clay...
  • it's a sorta brown, red, and orange rock with some green in there and from what i can see from the pic is that there is not enough cracks and it goes in the style of 2.5 where the .5 is the start of the first brick, then 1.5 bricks, then 2 bricks.
  • Thank you guys! I'm really appreciate your concern about original-look textures for a new work, but it may took forever to recreate all features pixel-by-pixel. I only can keep base colors and major features like seams and some cracks.

    I never used to create a rock/stone textures for Doomsday before. ;)
    But you're right for that particular example, the seams are too wide. I'm not finished with a small details either.

  • Looking really good, very impressive.
  • It looks good, though something bothers me about the middle block; it just doesn't seem to mesh with the surrounding bricks.

    I know the middle brick is meant to be a bit larger than the surrounding ones; it's that way in the original texture.
  • i see it too. it looks too bright if it was a bit darker to compensate for the bricks on the sides of it then it would be better i think.
  • I am really looking forward to this one. The one in the community pack never sat well with me so I have been using this.

  • did you do a switcharoo as the one in the screen shot looks different then the one that was there Veirdo. it looks better too.

    Your texture doesn't look like Hexen asset, but that's not a biggest problem. The texture color is not balanced, there are too deep and sharp shadows for such shallow cavities. It looks like it take place on a moon or any other planet without atmosphere.

    The textures must be lit like they may look on a foggy day, without clearly defined directional light source. On the earth light photons are scattered and reflected many times through the particles in the air, so there are some light everywhere.

    P.S. Does your version of Glass7 has aplhamask? Or just only white color instead?

    Yes, it has a proper Alpha Channel (Checked with a program).

  • Big thanks Milten, now I got it: this is corect, that glass07 has cleric image:) Previously I thought that this is incorrect, because my previous versions of glass07 were without cleric image in center
