MultiPlayer Help Please
Could someone please help me get multiplayer to work???
I can see the host info when I "update", but when I "connect" .... nothing happens.
Both computers are in the same room, first time I tried to connect, the "host" computer asked to allow the connection ... so they are seing each other but .... nada!
My son and I are dying to play some Heretic together.
Thanks, Marty

Only my Desktop had such a file, the laptop which was "joining" the game did not.
(BTW) - Diablo 2 LOD works just fine so I know there is nothing wrong with the connection(s) Edit DaniJ: Added /code tags

and
quiting the game locks up both computers, have to use task manager to shut 'em down. (might have something to do with the above)
Gonna try one last thing ... I have a file in my downloads folder called 1.9.0 beta5. I'll see what that does.

(glBSP effectively fixes graphical glitches in a number of maps, but it is not essential to have. To get rid of the messages, you would have to install glBSP separately; I'm not sure where it's available nowadays, if anywhere.)
v1.8.6 is several years old. It's likely that it is incompatible with the graphics and/or audio drivers on your computer, causing the lockup.
However, you may find that v1.8.6 is for the time being your best option for LAN multiplayer. For the upcoming new version (1.9.7) we have been working on improving the multiplayer support, but currently it has no GUI for hosting games on your own local network. One will be added in the near future, though.
It is Kickstart, not 1.8.6 looking for it; Dday got rid of the requirement for the external GLBSP program before 1.8.6, however the Kickstart launchers default settings were not updated to have the above mentioned checkbox unchecked.
Another option that 1.8.6's Kickstart was not updated for is memory. Change this from 32 to 256 (256 is the max) for improved performance.
