Doomsday Engine Multiplayer error : Segmentation Violation ?

Hello there,i don't know what's the reason but whenever i try to join a Netgame the game crashes and an Error appears saying "Segmentation Violation"

I Wonder what's causing it,and how can i fix it
Note : my game Version is 1.14.5 which is supposed to be a stable version,anyway to fix this ?

  • One thing I notice from that log is that a game change appears to be occurring following the line "MasterWorker: Received 2 servers from master" yet before the Net_StartConnection note. Did you change the game yourself manually before attempting to join the server?
  • I Don't remember i did anything,i just loaded DoommetalV4.wad,Configurated Keys,Mouse...etc,then Selected a server and then this error Occurred ..... is it a bug ? or i'm i doing something wrong .
  • I Did the following solutions but none of them worked :
    * Uninstalled and Re-installed the game
    * Installed Windows6.1-KB2859537-x86 Update
    * Updated Graphics card Driver

    RAM : 2GB
    Proccessor : Intel Pentium Dual Core 1.80GHz
    Graphics Card : NVidia GeForce 8400 GT DDR 2 1GB with Shader Model 4.0 Support

    I Even installed some programs,didn't know if they'll fix the problem and they Didn't :

    * Microsoft Visual Redist 2008/2010/2012/2013
    It's wierd that i haven't lost my Configs at the game after i uninstalled and reinstalled it,do you guys know where config files are located,so i can remove them and see if Problem will be fixed .

    I have had seg fault issues in the recent-ish past with Dday, when trying to join other peoples servers, that I posted about at the time. At the time, I put it down to server and client not having the exact same build of Dday (and suggested build number be displayed in the MP game information)..

    But since that time, I've stopped getting them. Though still had issues joining MP games fairly often; I often get dumped to the games title screen.

    EDIT: I've just tried to join the active Heretic server (while in Heretic and also while in Doom2) and get a seg fault each time. The seg fault occurs at the same point as Foufou74's does according to his out file. Though Heretic rather than Doom, obviously. No pwads or add-ons loaded my end (as I know Dday can't handle server and client having different ones loaded).
  • Mr. Foufou sometimes have a wad loaded that the server dose not can seg fault so try with out the wad and see.
  • Mr.foufou ? lol,anyway yah i tried to run the game without loading addons and it didn't work,i didn't mention about that above,but now you know.it seems like the problem isn't from me,it's from the engine itself .
  • I have several times made ​​sure that the Segmentation Violation error occurs when 1 ) The server is not available. 2 ) High Ping on both sides.
    It happens that when the server this error occurs. You connect to the game, and appears Segmentation Violation, in this case, simply restart the game and enter back in this multiplayer.

  • I Really tried,but it didn't work,my Ping is 68 and i restarted the game for like 4-5 times and nothing changed,i did everything possible as i said in Previous posts ...
