Skybox won't render
Hi,
After a long time I have decided to play the good ol games like Doom, Hexen and Heretic again with doomsday engine. Although for the most part it runs like a charm, there is 1 bug that is extremely annoying.
None of the skyboxes are being rendered in the engine. I have included a screenshot of the problem, this happens on all maps, in all games. As you can see I have a couple of addons installed, one of those are skyboxes that I downloaded from the main website. If I disable these addons skyboxes, the skybox still won't render.
I reinstalled doomsday 3 times now but it doesn't work. Is this a known issue? do I need to download the "unstable" version to fix this? or is there a workaround?
I someone has a solution, this is the only problem I have with Doomsday, everything else works perfectly.
EDIT: The website won't allow me to upload my picture for some reason so I can't show you what I mean. What it does is kinda "mimic" everything that is moving in front of it and then it "sticks" in the skybox, that is about as accurate as a description as I can make, unless the forum allows me to upload the image.

The addons I am using are: Doom hi-res pack, doom sky1, 2, 3, 4. HQ Doom SFX, Jdoom Music pack, jdui-all-20120223, jDRP.
All these addons have been downloaded from the website a few days ago, so it should be the latest version.
And I still have the same problem with the skymodel
Disabling skyboxes as well makes no difference.
I looked through the control panel, every setting with model/models in it is enabled.
If I change it to a .txt file it isn't allowed either.
Should I paste the last bit of the file here?
There is an error in the last part of the log file.
Can you increase the verbosity of the out file (settings, then developer, in Snowberry or by adding '-v -v' to the Command Line)?
Certainly, this is the important part of your Dday out file; Dday isn't finding the textures for the skyboxes:
I put the verbose on lvl 2, but I can't post the log, it is waaaaay to long and will take more then 30 posts to fully dump the file.
Is there any particular part you need, or is there some way I can upload this to the forum??
EDIT: I searched the out file for the specific file that get's this error, here is the part of the error:
Well I can't put it on Pastebin either, the file is still to big.....
I hope you can make something out of what I have pasted already, if there is any other part of the log file you need, please say so.
In general it is unnecessary to enable extra verbose logging when diagnosing a problem such as this with modern Doomsday. This is because any issues or warnings are always logged at the highest level so that they don't go unnoticed or end up buried.
If I compare the log file to the other one I made a couple of hours ago, there is no change, it's still the same as a couple of hours ago that I already posted here.
The full verbosity log details exactly what files are being loaded and from where, at the start of the log; the standard verbosity doesn't display this. It would have allowed us to see if you were, say, loading a file from the auto folder you weren’t aware of, that was causing issues.
So what log file would you like to see?
The one with verbose lvl 2?
If so where can I upload this so you can see the log.
the forum doesn't allow this, it's to long to post here and it's even to long to post on pastebin.
Can I send it to you through mail?
Please try deleting your config files (or make backups) and let Doomsday re-create them for you. If that still doesn't fix it then it sounds like a complete re-install is necessary (don't install over a previous version, for example).
Then I reinstalled doomsday from scratch and I have not yet added any add-ons to it.
When I start a new game either in Doom, Heretic or Hexen, STILL there is no sky being rendered
I am 100% sure that I did not forget anything when I deleted all the content, I don't understand why the sky won't render...
My video card is a ATI Radeon 5870.
I could downgrade back to 12.6 but I really dislike re-rolling video drivers, I have some bad experience with that in the past.
I would only try it if I am sure that may fix the problem, other games I have may get artifacts if I go back a version.
First I will need my good ol tool that fully deletes my video driver and then I can install 12.6
Since I am a bit busy with other stuff first I can't do that right now, when I find the time I will check it out and report back with any changes.
And guess what, the issue is gone, the sky renders again!
I wonder what AMD "updated" in there new driver that causes the sky not to render correctly.
Anyway, thanks for the awesome support for my problem, I really appreciate it and keep up the good work!
