Ultimate Doom crash with beta builds.

Hello. I've been playing the single player games with the beta builds and whenever I kill the Spiderdemon to finish EP3 in Ultimate Doom (Steam version) I get this:
Writer_Check: Position 518[+0] out of bounds, size=512, dynamic=1.

Any help will be appreciated, it happens without God mode too, but I just wanted to generate the file for the bug report, happens every time I've tried.

  • i get that too and mine is not from steam as steam is just a fully patched wad plus dos box to run it. now i think it has something to do with the boss tag that E3L8 use's for it's ending.
  • Yeah, I checked the hashes against the ones listed in the doom wiki. It also includes a duplicate d.wad...*sigh*
  • This isn't an Iwad bug, rather a bug in the beta build of Doomsday you are using.

    The Iwad has no element of the engine in it. The Iwad is basically a giant zip of all of the games graphics, audio and maps.

    Thanks, that much I knew, otherwise I wouldn't be bothering anyone here; I was just sighing about the wasted space of Steam's duplicate wads and their lack of dedication to such little details. Hopefully the error will be fixed in the final release :S
