Can't move in home server

When I start a server on my computer, iuse the net server start command after the base configurations. The server starts with my name and all, but when it spawns me, I can't move. I can jump alright. Also, when I end the server, I am perfectly fine again. What is going on?

By chance - are you using some Doomsday version from the 1.9.0-beta6.* series? They have broken MP.
