UI Streamlining

I was thinking that seeing the Doomsday console printout scrolling while the engine is loading maps is a bit of a mood breaker. We should have a very simplified "user mode" with a spartan, nothing-but-a-small-progress-bar screen during map loading. The current behavior is more appropriate for the "dev mode". This is something we should think about for Beta 6.

  • Forgive me if I'm wrong but don't we already give an option for this functionality?

CVAR : con-show-during-setup (1=Show console when a map is being loaded)

Perhaps it should be disabled by default.
  • con-show-during-setup is now off by default.

It makes things a bit better, but it's not exactly what I had in mind. I would like to enhance the appearance of the progress bar. It's looking somewhat dated to me. For one thing, it shouldn't be as wide. And to make it better fit the game graphics color scheme, it should be in monochrome, mostly black.
