open "space" is visible (like missing textures) in the small lake after going through red door.

in 1.8.6 theres no issues in same area.

    The deeper pool? If I remember that map, it relies on a trick of the Doom engine in order to make it appear as though you're sinking in the water, but the way the inconsistency is fixed in the later versions of the engine, it doesn't show up properly...

    If I remember correctly, there may have been talk of making either options or allowances to let certain old tricks like that render like they wanted to. I don't remember for sure, but I thought there was something like that...

    It would be very much appreciated... A lot of custom WADs rely heavily on these rendering tricks, and some of them look downright awful under Doomsday.
  • Indeed they do. These issues will be addressed in a future beta release but they aren't exactly high on the priority list right now.
