Location of Runtime folder (Mac)

edited 2010 Apr 28 in Technical Support
So, I'm using the latest deng with the snowberry frontend, and I'm on Mac OS 10.6

I can't for the life of me figure out where the runtime folder is. Or, more specifically, where the doomsday.out files are created to.

I've come across persistent crashing when using certain teleporters under certain circumstances in Hexen, and I'd like to report it here.

But I can't find the doomsday.out file! The option to "dump messages to doomsday.out" is enabled in the Hexen config page.

BTW, I've become extremely frustrated attempting to find an answer to this question. Although that's neither here nor there, it seems it should be listed here along with other OSes. :-/

Edit: Also, I've got messages set to level 2. The config files are located within the .app package, but no doomsday.out. What am I missing?

  • You are quite right it should be listed there. However not being a Mac user I haven't a clue where it could be. Strange beasts these Macs... :-/

skyjake will be able to inform us both once he notices this thread.
  • Alright, well it looks like I'll just have to wait for skyjake to come around. He'll know the answer to both my current question, I'm sure.

    Thanks for the reply.
  • The location of the runtime folder is documented in the readme file. It's under "Library/Application Support/Doomsday Engine" in your home folder.
  • Thanks, I didn't even know there was a readme. Must have been on the dmg.
