Crashes in TNT Evilution Map 30

Hello DaniJ !

I get random crashes in the last level of TNT Evilution everytime I load a saved game during gameplay.

I get different errors so I'll try to post them everytime I get a new one...

  • All in all, this level is quite unplayable :(

    The best way to see it is just to try to play it yourself and do normal saving while you progress and than try to load...
    I've tried not to save anything but I still get crashes when I simply walk through corridors or pick a weapon, etc...
    The 2 errors reported above are the only ones that I get.

  • Hello again !

    I've found some sort of bug in this level too...

    In the vary large chamber where you have to kill the Cyberdemon, there's a a small tower in the middle of the room with the red skull on it.

    Pressing the button next to the Cyberdemon raises some stairs in that small tower BUT NOT ALL THE WAY UP, so when you climb you can't get the red skull !!! (remember you are not supposed to jump)

    I've checked this with youtube and everytime they press that button, the stairs would rise all the way up as it should, so I think it's related to the engine.
  • Which version of Doomsday are you using?

    The stairs bug, which made parts of TNT Map 30 unplayable, was fixed for beta 6.9.

    I checked my WAD files with other opengl mods like ZDoomGl and it works...no errors...no stairs bug...except they're not as kickass as Doomsday ;)

  • I just reinstalled beta 6.9 and, surprisingly the stairs bug is no more...strange...

    The crashing with errors still occurs...

  • Can you use the Edit button rather than double post please.

    It sounds to me like you originally installed 1.9.0-beta6.9 over an older version of Doomsday. You did right to reinstall it completely.

    I'll take a look at your saved game files and report back here.

    Yes, I previously installed beta 6.9 over beta 6.8 without unistalling the former.
    The saved games cannot be loaded from the game menu, they crash. If I start a new game, they work, but soon they give the above errors.

    Instead, I tried playing from scratch...(warp 30) and I played the whole level flawlessly and I could save-load just fine !!! :))

    I guess the saved files cointained game info that was related to the stairs bug or any other bugs that 6.9 fixed and that caused crashing even in the latest beta ...

    I appologise DaniJ, so please don't bother anymore with the saved games.

    I noticed that even the time counter at the ending of every map was fixed... wonderfull job with Doomsday =D> ...if only I could use both music and SFX at 44.1 kHz ! [:)
