v 2.3x Assigning control keys

So, I'd really like to have a working Jump key, but alas, I scroll down to Jump, hit the J key, and I don't get a working Jump key. Any clues?

If you mean Doom or Heretic game where jumping wasn't a thing originally, then you have to explicitly allow jumping in the options, it's not enough to just assign a key to it.
