Help with launch

whenever I try to launch doomsday 2 I get
App init failed:
[NotFoundError] (in Folder::locate) "~/.doomsday/runtime/persist.pack" has incompatible type; wanted N2de13ArchiveFolderE

    Try deleting the file "~/.doomsday/runtime/persist.pack", it probably was truncated inadvertently due to a previous error. (It should be a valid ZIP file.)
