Gamma adjustment in Hexen?

I'm using the latest DE2 build and wondering if there is way to adjust the gamma, or other setting to make it brighter. I don't want to tweak my monitor if I don't have to :-)

there should be settings in the taskbar menu

On Windows, display gamma can be adjusted in the taskbar -> Video Settings -> Color Adjustments.
