Questions about 1.8.6
It's long outdated, it's unsupported, and yet it still is one of the best choices for doom demo recordings, its only real competitors being odamex (which is still under development and is prone to desyncing in demos as well as in coop) and zdaemon (which is closed source garbage). The second tier of Doom demo recordings (chocolate/crispy doom, boom, and prboom-plus) all have the fatal flaw of not logging text into the demo recording. So I have a few questions about the last stable version of Doomsday which allows demo recordings.
1. I know boom support is very limited. Did jdoom 1.8.6 at least support BEX?
2. Doomsday 1.8.6 doesn't compile on my 64-bit debian 8 system. Would it compile with a 32-bit system? Does it even support creating 64-bit binaries? Are there any 32-bit or 64-bit binaries of 1.8.6 that I can download?
