Doomsday Engine Update

Is there a way to update the Doomsday Engine from the Doomsday Engine front end or do you always have to start the game to do the update.

The frontend does not support automatic updates. It is pretty much a certainty that this will remain the case indefinitely since we are planning to get rid of the frontend and run Doomsday as a standalone application in the future.
