Anyone know what's up with this? I have installed all of the libs installed, and every game is complete with all of their files. Thanks!

  • If appears that you are missing all of the required "WAD" files from the original games. These are not included in the Doomsday download, the user must supply them.

If you do not own these required "WAD Files" from the original games you can still buy the games from "Steam" (I think).

Hope this helps, IF I am correct on this.
  • i know the problem and that is he is trying to play hacx witch i think needs the doom or doom 2 wad i can't remember but i think it's using the wrong iwad for it.
  • Do you have Hacx 1.2 installed? This is the only version Doomsday supports.

@ John, Gordon: Hacx is an iwad, i.e., it is a game in its own right and does not depend on any other.
  • i did a search online and found that only 1.2 is available witch is a standalone iwad but if he did have an earlier version then it must have been on floppy/cd witch is rare and that was not a standalone iwad.
  • To me, the notable thing is that the op's Dday installation and Iwads are on K:, while his config files are on C:.

This is an issue that has come up before; that Snowberry and/or Doomsday get confused when the config files and Doomsday installation aren't on the same drive.
  • Perhaps, however the issue here is clearly that hacx.wad is declared to be "missing" despite Speedy providing a path to it with -iwad, which usually means its an incompatible/unsupported version.

There are several other issues with the install; for example, Doomsday itself is clearly installed inside the Steam Apps folder. However, these have nothing to do with the actual problem encountered.
  • EDIT: Deleting my Doomsday Resources folder from my documents and reinstalling Doomsday to c:\ fixed my issues. Thanks everyone! :>

I own DOOM\DOOM II\Final DOOM all on Steam.

I did that to attempt to replace the dosbox.exe file steam provides (to track gametime\get overlay), I encountered this same issue when Doomsday was installed to K:\Programs\Doomsday

I'll try to install on C:\, thanks.

That would fix my issue with HacX, but doesn't explain why Hexen isn't working. I have it pointed to my install folder of it with all files from the original install in it.
