Save game tool

Just curious what the save game tool does in the latest betas. Start up takes longer now. Freezes for a bit while the save game tool is trying to do something. If I delete this file the game starts normally and I can still save games with no problems.

    The latest unstable builds have a new unified save game format (previously each game plugin handled saving games in isolation). To the user, this now allows one to load save games from any game while playing any game, via the Dday UI.

    The save game tool attempts to both convert older Dday save games and also restore Dday's old, but long broken, ability to load Vanilla Doom and Heretic (by converting them) save games.

    Eventually the tool will be made less intrusive at start up.

    Improving the automatic conversion of existing savegames is something I'm working on during the 1.14 candidate phase. The plan is to do the conversion in the background so the user is not really even aware its happening.
