Load saved game problem

Hi everyone.

I am trying doomsday for the first time on my Debian wheezy. I start the game as: doomsday -g jdoom -file /home/bejkarna/doom2.wad

The problem is that when I load a saved game, some monsters and items like keys are missing. I have to kill myself and start over with no weapons.

I like the graphics and everything but is this big problem for me. I can idkfa to get some weapons, but thats no good.

  • Please post your doomsday.out, as per the Note at the top of this subforum.

    An IWAD path on the command line is specified with the -iwad argument (not, -file). See the man page, read me and/or wiki for more info.

  • Looks like you're using a really old build (from 2012) - try downloading the latest version from the home page and see if your issue is resolved.
  • Its older still, 1.9.0-beta6.9 was actually released nearly four years ago, in fact.

  • Thanks for your replys. The problem is that I am limited by the libc6 library which I have version 2.13-38. I have tried to install an ubuntu package but all higher versions of deng needs libc6 >= 2.14. I tried to ignore this but the engine won't run without the lib. I have tried deng 1.13 on my win7 and it worked with the same wad.
  • OK, I can save just before end of level, this is OK for me. Thanks for your thoughts. The thing is, as I have noticed, that there is no active maintainter for the Debian package. So even newer releases of Debian still have this old version. But I guess it is still possible to go with the Ubuntu package in Debian testing.
