Friends Cannot Connect To Server

I've recently downloaded the latest version of the doomsday client, i have all the wads and have sent the same files to friends.
Everything is installed and working, i can setup the server and am able to connect (though only through the custom games list?) once setting the server password and setting it to public through the command line on the shell.

My friends are able to see the server (through ip/master server) but when trying to connect the client does nothing, just dumps them back to the multiplayer portion of the current game. Are there any solutions for this? I've looked around the forums and cant seem to find any answer.

Ask one of your friends to provide their doomsday.out, it might present some clues as to what the problem is.

the doomsday.out would be help full but just a question did you set up port forwarding i know that can cause issues with multilayer.

Will try port forwarding, if that doesnt work i'll get a friend to send a log as soon as their available tonight
