edited 2013 May 5 in Technical Support

i click ok, update correctly downloaded, then i click install and got "doomsday do not answer"

it is only on windows XP, with windows 7 update was correct.

  • If you're on Windows XP, my advice is to disable the autoupdate checks and just upgrade manually. At least I won't be spending any development time addressing XP issues (DaniJ might be persuaded?). (We are in the process of deprecating support for Windows XP.)

Wow, I didn't know XP SP3 was dropped. I am still using it. I guess I won't bother to upgrade anymore. Can't you guys wait until April 2014 when MS stops supporting XP? :(
  • We will likely be releasing more patches for 1.10 in the coming months. Windows XP continues to be a supported platform for 1.10.x (notwithstanding glitches like the one in the autoupdater).

Ah OK. :) If you do finally drop XP support, then make sure the installer detects that.
