Lose weapon display in heretic multiplayer

Hello when picking up new weapons in heretic shadow of the serpents riders using doomsday 1.9.7 the weapon disappears from the the first person view and you are unable to fire anymore. Has this happened to anyone else when playing multiplayer? Are there workarounds for this issue?

question as i have not had this myself is there any text displayed on screen besides the standard for when you get new weapon? i know if you use the doom cheat idkfa you lose all your weapons and can only melee them till there dead

The same bug existed with HeXen during the MP testing for 1.9.7. However I recall no such issue with Heretic's weapons.

The only issues with Heretic's weapons in MP were that the Staff and Gauntlet attacks were switched if you attacked with the Staff before picking up the Gauntlet’s and the Crossbow lacked it's trail.
