Some minor things about 1.9.7 built 439 (with win32)

In Doom2 there's a brief full screen HOM before the episode text screens.
For example:

After MAP06: [entering DEAD SIMPLE] > [HOM] > ["You have entered deeply..."]
After MAP11: [entering THE FACTORY] > [HOM] > ["You have won!..."]
After MAP15: [INDUSTRIAL ZONE finished] > [HOM] > ["Congratulations..."]

In Doom E1M7 the trap fails to trigger where a pillar should lower from the ceiling onboard four sergeants. (sector #906)

If you start Doom2 MAP02, turn on the automap, type the "IDDT", go to the options/automap menu and switch the door colors > OFF (the default is ON) all the key doors turn invisible on the automap.

In Doom walking with the chainsaw the bobbing movement of the saw sprite isn't smooth (as with other weapons) but rather jerky.

Comments

  • the chainsaw thing is due to the model moving and so you get the choppy movement due to animation if there was no animation then it would not be choppy.
  • The chainsaw movement is choppy because the original game updates it's position in screen space so infrequently. At some point we intend to implement some movement smoothing for the HUD weapons.
