1.9.0-beta6.2 Released

Version 1.9.0-beta6.2 has been released and can be <a href="http://sourceforge.net/project/platformdownload.php?group_id=74815">downloaded from SourceForge.net</a>.

As usual, the <a href="http://dengine.net/dew/index.php?title=Doomsday_version_1.9.0-beta6.2">release notes</a> are to be found at the wiki.

  • The OS X and source packages are now on SourceForge.
  • Well, it builds (with a few compiler warnings).
    Probably forum would be better than blog for the following,
    but:
    1. In the sources, there a note about old plans
    of moving from lzss to zlib. Were they dropped ?
    2. While I don't know Portuguese, I can tell snowberry's
    Portuguese translation got messed up (not recently).
    I think it was initially latin1, but was converted to utf8
    as mac-roman. I was able to recover most of the original content,
    except for the chars that got replaced by question signs.
    3. Finally, a question. What are the chances of doomsday getting
    a Strife module within next two years? That seem to be the final shortcoming when compared to vavoom.

    I played with snowberry a bit. It seems to work fine with
    wxpython 2.8 (Unicode build).
