The Doomsday Engine project (or JHexen, as it was called at the time) was begun on May 8, 1999. The project is about to turn 10 years old! This is pretty cool. Thanks to everyone who has been sticking along for the ride! :)

The first release of jHexen was done on November 1, 1999. Maybe we should use that date to make some sort of a special release.

  • A full release of Doomsday 1.9.0 seems most appropriate but given its current rate of development, a projected November 1st release sounds rather optimistic to say the least.

I agree that we should be doing something special on/for that date.

Perhaps we should be discussing this via email instead so we can retain some element of surprise? :)
  • If you discuss over email feel free to include me in the emailing.
I will see if I have time to release a new version of the dhtp as well to celebrate
