I have no idea what has happened. Doomsday was doing fine. I was almost finished playing Final Doom-TNT Evilution when it wouldn't load. The screen message mentioned not being able to load something in the Plutonia Saves - but I wasn't playing Plutonia yet. Why would it be looking for a Plutonia save?<br />
I have tried turning the computer off and on - no change - and I have checked the Doomsday.Out Log File (found nothing I could point to). Here's the Failed Message (I have a screen grab, but Isee no way to upload it):<br /><br />
"App init failed:<br />

        <description><![CDATA[I'm running Doomsday Engine 2.3.1.3685 with default settings on Windows 11 23H2 with the current 572.47 Nvidia drivers and App 11.0.2.337, and an RTX 4070. I have a Dell G3223Q 144Hz monitor that works with G-sync with every other application and game I have tried.<br /><br />
I have configured default 3D settings according to <a rel="nofollow" href="/home/leaving?allowTrusted=1&amp;target=https%3A%2F%2Fblurbusters.com%2Fgsync%2Fgsync101-input-lag-tests-and-settings%2F14%2F">https://blurbusters.com/gsync/gsync101-input-lag-tests-and-settings/14/</a> - global settings of: Gsync enabled, vsync on, maximum frame rate of 141 FPS. With these settings, Doomsday Engine periodically causes the screen to blank: this is often a symptom of the application going outside the Gsync range of the monitor. The global maximum frame rate of 141 FPS configured in the Nvidia Control Panel or App prevents this from happening with other applications, but does not seem to be the case with Doomsday Engine. If I set an application-specific maximum frame rate for Doomsday.exe, this seems to take effect, but even limiting it to 108 FPS seems to still cause this periodic black screen to happen, albeit less often. At 72 FPS, I haven't yet observed it happening at all.<br /><br />
Using the Nvidia App to set the Monitor Technology for Doomsday.exe to Fixed Refresh: 144Hz, or using the Nvidia Control Panel to set the Preferred refresh rate to "Application-controlled" instead of the default of "Use global setting (Highest Available)" also seems to prevent these periodic black screens.<br /><br />
If I enable the Gsync Indicator in Nvidia Control Panel-&gt;Display-&gt;Set up G-Sync-&gt;[Display drop-down menu-&gt;G-SYNC Compatible Indicator], then it shows Doomsday Engine isn't using G-Sync.<br /><br />
Is this known and expected behaviour, perhaps because Doomsday Engine uses OpenGL rather than Direct3D?]]>

        <description><![CDATA[I have setup some Doom Custom Profiles that I can run using Doomsday Engine GUI.  I'm asking if there is any way to add these Custom Profiles to the Server Shell's GAME MODE Drop Down list under Start Local Server tab so they can be played on a LAN as COOP games?  Currently, my GAME MODE Drop Down list appears to only contain Shareware and Retail games.<br /><br />

I wanted to know if there is any option or addon that removes corpses or provides me with a block of code to paste into the Doomsday Engine or any other option. I use 3D models in custom WADs with many monsters, and the performance decreases significantly. I know there is the option of LOD (Level of Detail) and maximum visible distance, but the models are not visually compatible, and I don't like how it looks. I prefer the 3D models of the corpses to disappear.<br /><br />
I'm using Doomsday_2.3.2-build3869_x64.<br /><br />

        <description><![CDATA[I want to test all Doom source port engines for a project, and Doomsday.exe is the only one that resolutely refuses to run on any of my systems since I moved from XP to Seven. I tried it on all my systems, and on all of them, it crashes on the splash screen.<br /><br />
Is Doomsday.exe compiled against OpenGL?<br /><br />
There are off-forum instructions that say "To find the crash log, click :hamburger-logo: , but I can't get to the main menu.<br /><br />
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.<br /><br />

I have been poking around in here everywhere (except where I would find the answer without asking) I would love some help with animating some textures If someone could spare me the time. I have seen it and had success in GZDoom using ANIMDEFS and the same textures I want to use in doomsday... but who wants to use gzd anyway? When searching the Doomsday manual, I found that doomsday uses .ded files instead.<br /><br />
I did get it working enough to where I can tell that doomsday is reading and loading my .ded file, but I must still be doing something improperly. My results are... instead of displaying texture 1 then changing to 2 then 3, I just get flashing between black then texture 1. It never does change to 2 or 3, just black, tic tic tic texture1 then repeats. If I change the TIC count, the flashing is just slower or faster. It does recognize the flag first_only because my second test unit in the map, of the texture using texture 2 in the map keeps it from animating properly as it is described in the manual.<br /><br />
I am loading the .ded file like I would add a pwad. The loading order is the JHRP package, then my .wad file, then the .ded file.<br /><br />

        <description><![CDATA[I am trying to run doomsday on a Windows 11 pro (10.0.22621) with a Ryzen 5 5600x and RTX 3090. Upon launching the executable (whether it be versions 2.3.1, 2.3, 2.0, x86, x64 architecture, or zip, or msi installer), the launcher loads with nothing being rendered. It is a black screen. However, buttons appear to work, and clicking on where buttons are supposed to be shows ui elements.<br /><br />
When clicking where the exit button should be, the application exits and states: <img src="https://talk.dengine.net/uploads/editor/ss/39etc665alo2.png" alt="39etc665alo2.png" />.<br />
I also cannot enter verbose logging mode.<br /><br />

(Also, I had to go to the manual to refresh my memory on how to make screenshots, and stumbled upon "renderer" settings, the screen shot shows both "renderer" and "3D and VR"; neither of those options show up in my 2.2 990 build of Doomsday and I don't remember seeing them, not for a long time at least. Are they just not present in the current builds or is something going wrong?)<br />]]>

I am having a problem with fast monsters. I enabled this option on the game menu, it only applies after restarting the level. However, if I leave this option enabled and quit the engine (or the game back to the launcher menu), the next time I come back, the option still remains enabled but monsters are no longer fast.<br /><br />
Is there a way to tackle this issue other than manually setting this option every time I run the game?<br /><br />
System info:<br />
OS: Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS x86_64<br />
Doomsday version: 2.3.2 (candidate build 3869)<br />
This is really the only version I can install. If I download any other, I get redirected to the snap store where this one is available.]]>

would you know the reason not all the models from the dhmp 2021.11.11 load in multiplayer?<br /><br />
I selected it to load in doomsday-shell

and enabled the setting in doomsday to load local mods during mutiplayer.<br />
the cacodemon, helath boxes, health bottles, shotgun sheels, weapon pickups don't load, but the pillars, candles candlebra do, hud models seem to load fine.<br /><br />

        <description><![CDATA[I'm having a problem where, when I move the mouse  (Roccat Burst Pro) in any direction, the view moves up and to the left.  When it gets as high as it can go, then it just spins around to the left.  It doesn't matter which game.  If I plug in a different mouse -- of the most basic cheap kind -- it's ok.  Is there some setting I can tweak to fix this behavior?  This is on an up-to-date Gentoo Linux system running DE v2.3.0.  Log attached.]]>

        <description><![CDATA[After a while the menu turns blue and there are texts that cannot be read, besides some sprites are not shown, such as the location of the character on the maps. The solution I found is to delete the contents of the runtime folder except savegame.<br />
I did not find another solution.<br />

I recently (re)installed a doomsday server, but it seems that now the game place some weapons at some places that should not be there.<br /><br />
like in doom2 first level, there is almost every weapon available at the start including bfg9000...<br /><br />
I would like to get a vanilla experience ... is there a new parameter that we have to set to get vanilla without extra stuff ?<br /><br /><br />
