        <description><![CDATA[Sometimes Heresiarch becomes very fast in Chantry. Today I played as fighter on titan difficulty there and encountered this again. Normally Heresiarch is not affected by fast monsters flag of 5th skill level and he started normally when I reached him. But after several seconds he started to move and cast spells much faster, almost instantly. I still managed to kill him, but that was weird.]]>

        <description><![CDATA[I am at the point where I am working on the three chapels (Griffin, Wolf, and Dragon), and currently worked on the Griffin chapel. The problem that I am having is getting two puzzle switches to activate:<br /><br />
+ The first one behind the "gem" wall with all of the barred serpents and ettins at the start.<br />
+ The second one in the labyrinth with the moving walls. I had to resort to using the chaos device (?) to get back to the start of the map.<br /><br />
I tried no-clipping to use the switches to no available.<br /><br />

        <description><![CDATA[Hey i'm running a hexen server and ran into a couple of bugs. And didn't find any solutions to them.<br />
In Map33 Silent Refectory, the push doors are stuck meaning the Ruby Planet can't be acquired. I got them all with codes and tried to proceed.<br /><br />
In Hub 3 Heresiarch's Seminary after you have placed the gems the door to the 3 chapel's open, but when you go back to hub 3 those door's are closed again, meaning last boss in the hub can't be fought.<br /><br />
In Map30 Griffin Chapel, the moving walls are moving outside of the rest of the wall structure. not too much of a hassle just a surprise when getting gibbed by a wall coming out from a wall<br /><br />
These bugs are ONLY present in multiplayer as far as i have seen.<br /><br />
I'm using Doomsday Engine 2.1.1.2967<br />
and Doomsday Shell 2.1.1.<br /><br />
I also tried shell 1.15 and same thing happened<br />
Anyone know of a workaround or fix for these probs?<br /><br />
If this allready has been posted, sorry<br /><br />

        <description><![CDATA[Hi there. I'm trying to setup 7.1 surround sound in version 2.1.1 stable of the engine, but can't seem to find a way to do it. I enabled the 3d sound, and tried both 1 sound per emitter enable and disabled, with 8 channels of sound, but still the best I get is stereo. I'm using Corsair Void USB Headsets. By the way, just in case is needed, I'm using a CoreI7 8700, 32 GB RAM, and an ATI Radeon RX 580 Graphics Card. I'm also running the game and the windows from a 1 TB SSD Drive.]]>

i'm new here and i find this engine very great because it's allow me to play my old favorite game (like Hexen, Doom, etc.)<br />
in high resolution.<br />
The issue I am experiencing is in Hexen in the large areas: the frame rate is quite low, around 24-30 fps, while in small areas it is normal, around 59-60 fps (as my monitor supports).<br /><br />
Despite having  pretty recent hardware, (I5 3570K, MSI Geforce 970 Gtx OC 4 GB, 16 GB ram ddr3, SSD 250 Gb) the frame rate is still low.<br /><br />
The addons i loaded are  "Hexen Community Compilation Pack (jXCCP)" V.1.31 and  Hexen Texture Pack downloaded from their proper area in this site.<br /><br />
Is it normal that this is so or can we something be done?<br /><br />
P.S.<br />
In the 1.10.3 version of the engine it didn't happen, but unfortunately it's not compatible with windows 10.<br /><br />

Or so I thought. The engine, although a little slow, it works perfectly. However, I got the wrong package, it wasn't the XARP package, it was another, I'm not sure which one. So, I unloaded the package, loaded the XARP package correctly, but when I tried to load the savegame, the engine shows a message that the savegame was made with another package, and that it had a missing particule package or something like that, and it didn't allow me to load the game. I understand that every savegame depends on the package, but it's kind of a bummer that I have to play the game all over again. Is there any way to force the engine to load the savegame with the new package?]]>

        <description><![CDATA[In fact I've just replayed Doom, Doom 2, Heretic and Hexen in Doomsday 1.1.5, and had a blast - though even now, I still think that Doom 2 feels like a real slog at times<br /><br />
Hexen was fantastic, and it was the one game that I've never really replayed properly in a modern source port. In fact I've not really played it in any serious manner since the late 1990s. Hexen always in a bit of an unfinished state on modern source ports, with a few bugs, and glitches, plus it's seen the least attention in terms of models and textures, there's still plenty of missing textures and models for this game. Despite this, I had a fantastic time using the existing community resource pack, and thoroughly enjoyed the game. It's amazing how much you remember, even when you've not played a game for years, and also amazing how much you forget! I got stuck in a couple of areas.<br /><br />
So, on to the real point of my post. Hexen still misses the following 3D actor models:<br /><br />
Frost Wendigo<br />
Stalker<br />
Reiver<br />
Heresiarch<br />
Zedek<br />
Traductus<br />
Menelkir<br />
(the final three would also count as player models)<br /><br />
Also there is no model for the following HUD weapon:<br />
Quietus<br /><br />
It was funny though how soon I got used to sprites. After a while I stopped really noticing. Still it would be nice to have a complete model pack.<br /><br />
In addition I encountered the following glitches (v 1.15)<br /><br /><b>Hub 3 - Heresiarch's Seminary.</b><br /><br />
In the courtyard area leading to Orchard of Lamentation is a switch hidden behind a tree. This switch activates four revolving doors, one of which leads to a storeroom containing the fourth shard of the ultimate weapon.<br />
The doors are supposed to keep on rotating once the switch is pressed, however, after going through the first door, it locked behind me, and all other doors stopped revolving and became inaccessible. This makes it potentially impossible for the player to receive their ultimate weapons at that point, unless the no clip cheat is used.<br /><br /><b>Hub 3 - Wolf Chapel / Dragon Chapel</b><br /><br />
In Wolf Chapel is an 'atrium' area, that looks a bit like a stadium, containing an alcove at the far end, with an Icon of The Defender. Selecting this raises a wedge-shaped platform, and summons Dark Bishops. It also unlocks the final part of the puzzle in Dragon Chapel.<br /><br />
In Dragon Chapel is a passage (there are two such passages, but the first one is unlocked earlier without issues) containing two revolving pillars, which are supposed to move allowing access to the passage beyond. But when the corresponding puzzle is unlocked in Wolf Chapel, only one pillar moves. The other stays in place, but stops revolving. If No Clip is used to bypass the blockage, the glitched pillar then moves properly into place. This makes it impossible to progress without cheating.<br /><br />
On the plus side, all other hubs worked flawlessly. Seven Portals, which was pretty broken in v 1.14 is now perfect - or at least that was my own experience.<br /><br />

        <description><![CDATA[Hello everyone, I bought from steam a bunch of old games (hexen, heretic, doom, ...). <img src="https://talk.dengine.net/resources/emoji/smile.png" title=":)" alt=":)" height="20" /><br /><br />
I've configured DE  to watch a custom directory for wads. Then I copied my games wads to that directory (HEXEN.WAD, HEXDD.WAD, HERETIC.WAD, DOOM2.WAD, PLUTONIA.WAD, TNT.WAD).<br /><br />
I have some problems with Hexen. When I start playing there were both Hexen and Hexen v1.0 options on the games hub. Don't ask why, but I choosed Hexen v1.0.<br /><br />
Now I can't play Hexen v1.0 ("Missing data files") but only Hexen... So I can't reload my saves <img src="https://talk.dengine.net/resources/emoji/frowning.png" title=":(" alt=":(" height="20" /><br /><br />
I've verified, the saves are still on the disk. Tried to copy them on the Hexen saves dir, but (of course) they aren't compatible.<br /><br />
I've tried uninstalling the games from steam (I understood from logs that DE looks for steam games, also).<br /><br />
I've tried to configure DE to look at each game directory, but without success.<br /><br />
The same problem with Hexen Deathkings of the Dark Citadel (but luckly I havn't played it, yet) <img src="https://talk.dengine.net/resources/emoji/frowning.png" title=":(" alt=":(" height="20" /><br /><br />
Heretic, and dooms are, instead, correctly listed.<br /><br />

I have been editing doom and hexen for many years, and I would like to submit my first hexen HUB for the comunity to play.<br />
It is by no means perfect, but I think players will enjoy playing through with each of the three classes, as there will be a slightly different strategy for each, and order to do things.<br /><br />
The Hub is 4 complete levels. I am designing a fifth level, but I would like some feedback on what I have done so far.<br /><br />
The story is set concurrently to the original Hexen. The cetral level is built around a sidhe shrine. Players must complete a series of puzzles to access the other three levels and once all are completed they open the teleport to the desert area. I tried to end my Mod here but the end game on linedef cross or pick up item does not seem to work! :P<br /><br />
The name of the mod is Fate. It works best with the doomsday 2 engine.<br /><br />

        <description><![CDATA[Well I orioginally had a problem on the 2nd level where I got all 6 tiles to light up but the secret level would not open and the main door to end the level would not open.  So I used the noclip to get past there and on to the next level.<br /><br />
Well i'm not on the 3rd level and have completed all the puzzles to make the 9 tiles light up.  Part way threw though some of the tiles I had lit and completed decided to not be lit and complete anymore so I once again had to use the noclip to finish.  Well that really didnt do me any good because now i'm done but the tiles are not all lit so there is no big battle to be had and then I cannot move on without the noclip again.<br /><br />
Whats going on with my game and is there a fix for this?  I'm using 1.14.5]]>

When I start doomsday and select Hexen, then try to load a saved game, I find that doomsday has overwritten some of my saved games with old saves. I have a backup, and if I copy the old saves into ~/.doomsday/runtime/savegames/hexen and restart doomsday, the games I put there show up, but upon exiting, it overwrites the games I put there with old ones from somewhere else. I have not been able to find where it is storing those old game saves. This is very frustrating as it means I can no longer save any games. This seems to be a new thing in the last week or so, but I cannot figure out what happened to cause this. And I am seriously baffled as to where those old saves are being pulled in from. I have deleted the persist.pack file, so it isn't coming from there.<br /><br />
Edit: I am moving this post to the doomsday engine section as the problem appears to be happening with other games (heretic) as well.]]>

        <description><![CDATA[I'm having a problem with Hexen in Doomsday 1.6 where some of the faces seem non-existent or see-through. What can I do to fix this? I'm running Windows 7 64 bit with 8gb of ram, and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series graphics card.<br /><br />

        <description><![CDATA[I've attempted three playthroughs now using the default settings for Doomsday with Hexen, no addons or extra models, just stock hexen in stock Doomsday 1.14.5 and the same issue occurs: Seven Portals becomes unfinishable.<br /><br />
It happens in a different place each time, but the bug is the same: I'll throw all the switches in one of the phases to open one of the large golden doors leading to the next area, usually either the first set of three in Guardian of Fire/Steel or the second set to open the final one - and nothing happens.<br /><br />
Return to Guardian of Steel/Fire, verify all three switches to open the door are thrown, go back. Door still isn't open, game is unwinnable.<br /><br />
Any ideas?]]>

        <description><![CDATA[Hi there, i have just installed and played recently with your wonderful, really wonderful engine, thanks a lot for all the fun. You really make me remember the old days with these games, but i´m a little bit annoyed with something. how can i get the lightning effects that are shown in your post "a decade of doomsday"? that flare from the arc of fire and that awesome lightning from the crossbow in heretic i mean. Are those part of an add-on or are included in the engine? I would really like to know how to get them, they just look awesome.         <description><![CDATA[In seven portals, guardian of ice, the sword that shows which column to step on to exit isn't showing up. I first noticed this in VR mode but it also doesn't show when played without VR.<br /><br />
Also, I can't seem to adjust gamma, brightness, or contrast when in VR. The Oculus shows much darker than normal mode.<br />
I also have judder problems.<br /><br />
EDIT: For some reason the game has lightened up and the contrast is fine, it was not anything I've changed that I know of.<br /><br />
I set the apostrophe key to bring up task bar but after playing for awhile it stops working, shift tilde doesn't work either. I have to shut down and start over. I just realized the task bar can be brought up thru the menu, maybe I can reset the apostrophe thru that, haven't tried it yet (getting tired of trying things).<br /><br />
Can an option be made that separates head tracking from aiming? It's seems to me that it would be more natural for the hud/arm/weapon to be aimed with the mouse in any direction, that way the hud/arm/weapon would be used to indicate which way the body is facing leaving the cam to be used with head tracking only.<br /><br />

I upgraded from 1.13x mainly because of the star stairs issue. But now, in some game sessions, not all doors will open, and the only fix seems to be start from the beginning.]]>

        <description><![CDATA[Hey everyone,<br /><br />
Just installed the Doomsday Engine the other day, and was able to install/run The Ultimate Doom and Doom 2 without any issues. However, I'm having issues getting Hexen to run properly (as well as Heretic). When I try to launch either game, I'm taken to the Doomsday 1.14.5 full-screen launcher screen, where it says nothing is installed. To note, on the full-screen launcher screen, it doesn't mention Doom/Doom2 as installed/available, but I am still able to launch it from the "regular" launcher (since the launcher can't see the working games, I'm not sure if it's a problem with the launcher or not).<br /><br />
Just wondering if anyone knows what I need to do to configure Hexen/Heretic to work? I've added the .wad files, but I'm not sure if there's any other support files needed. I've attached some screenshots below so people can see what's happening.<br /><br />
