        <description><![CDATA[So I bought the Steam version of Doom+Doom II and I can't get the doom2.wad to work. I tried iwadpatcher 1.2 but the wad is too recent. Copied over the wads to my Linux install of Doomsday, but no dice for Doom II  (Linux Mint Debian Edition 6).<br /><br />

When I try to play Doom 2, the default entry says "missing data files" and will not play. If I create a custom entry using the same .wad file it works just fine. Anyone know what's going on? (Also, covered in a previous post, I cannot turn left while sprinting, but I can turn right)]]>

        <description><![CDATA[I like to run the older versions of games as well as the most recent, as well as having wads with demos etc. that are designed for specific versions.  The game does recognize that I HAVE multiple variants of a pwad available, but it seems to simply randomly choose which one it wants to use when I launch the engine.  Is there a way for me to select WHICH data file I use, for example for Doom Registered I have 1.1, 1.2, 1.666, 1.8, 1.9.  How do I select 1.666 when I want to run an older wad for closer compatability, or 1.1 if I want to see the various changes made to the maps?]]>

This contains the following:
<ul><li>episode 5 map sequence</li>
<li>"SIGIL" added to menu</li>
<li>new sky and music</li>
<li>endgame text after E5M8</li>
</ul><br />
Note that this is with the full "non-compat" version of Sigil, and I only did a bit of playtesting so some things may still not work. Let me know how it goes!<br /><br />

        <description><![CDATA[One of the best vanilla compatible megawads I played. The map 30 uses dehacked nazi and keens replacements. Nazis are plasma turrets and keens are rocket turrets. They work but the Sprite replacements fail to show at all. One room depends on a flag where the player can be telefragged or the spawn cubes fail to disappear to allow monsters to spawn in as a wall slowly lowers. Im playing though it and so far it plays well and looks amazing! I sure map 30 is the only one with trouble.]]>

        <description><![CDATA[It's a DOOM2-mod called "Return To Castle Wolfenstein II".<br />
It has to be installed in DOOM2 via DOS-Box.<br />
After that you have 5 files to use with Doomsday: r2char.wad, r2levels.wad, r2sprite.wad, r2stg.wad and wolf.deh<br />
They work fine with Doomsday.<br />
But if you rename these files, the mod doesn't work anymore!<br />
For exemple renaming them to 1.wad, 2.wad, 3.wad, 4.wad and 5.deh.<br />
However as long as the original names of these files are part of the renamed ones, it works!<br />
Pretty strange! Any suggestions?]]>
