Doomsday 2, build 1984

edited 2016 Jun 12 in Technical Support
Hi,

today I tried out the latest build and found some issues:

- automap doesn't work in all games (just an emtpy screen is displayed)

- preferences like hud size or iwad folder are not saved

- all games: segmentation violation when trying to save a game (game itself is saved)

- sometimes quitung the game does work: screen gets black, but music is still playing

Are these known issues?

  • Please try the new build 1989 to see if there's any improvement to these.

I've seen this in Hexen, but not in other games. How about you?

Which OS are you on? These are saved to your runtime folder, perhaps there's a problem with it. Could you check if any of the files have been successfully written (check the modification times) and if there's a doomsday.out, could you post that here?

Haven't seen this one, but it could be related to the issue above (file access problems).

    Never seen this one myself.
  • I made a clean install of the 1989 64-build on Windows 7 x64. deleting even the old runtime folder, but problems still persists

    - no automap in all games

    - sometimes a black screen after quiting a game and restartung it again.
  • Ok, I managed to reproduce some of these issues. They seem to have been introduced a build or two ago. I'll continue investigating and apply fixes in upcoming builds.

    Thanks for reporting!
